It’s not really a bench, but it, they are rows of chairs where the patients can sit. Except in the afternoon, it’s not the patients. It’s the vultures. The salesmen, usually young, but not always, in their nice clothes and their iPads or brochures at the ready, they sit there and prey on the doctors who pass by. For their machines, their medicines, their wigs, I don’t know, but they disgust me. I saw them accost two doctors in the time I was there, one waved them off, the other wasn’t so lucky. We often think raggedy homeless bums as annoyances when they crash into our restaurants or hang outside them, oh my God they’re so dirty and there, but here it is the well dressed that are the loathsome parasites. Be nice to see them swept out of the hospital corridors for good, but I’m guessing that’s never going to happen.
Luke how are the nurses? Are they kind or indifferent? Mom

ReplyDeleteDoes Japan have a NHS (National Health System)? just wondering if it's a better system than here in the US.
ReplyDeleteJapan does and it does help not like Canada where they pay for everything.
ReplyDeleteI think we have vultures too, but they are stealth, and lurk in the shadows, waiting to pounce, lure, and buy dinner for doctors willing to listen.
ReplyDeleteThey are probably everywhere I imagine.
